Selection Notes
Typically selected when an ST/UPC single-mode link needs a fixed, known attenuation value (up to 25
dB) to prevent receiver overload or to stabilize power during commissioning/testing, using
a male-to-female plug-in format for quick insertion at patch points.
May not be appropriate when the required attenuation target or wavelength plan (1310/1550) isn’t
defined, or when the link is not actually single-mode ST/UPC, since an incorrect fixed value can
under-power the receiver or hide underlying link issues during troubleshooting.
