Array waveguide grating is usually used in WDM system optical (DE) multiplexers of Wavelength division multiplexing WDM system. These devices can compound the lights with many wavelengths into a single optical fiber, so as to improve the transmission efficiency of optical fiber network. Array waveguide grating is based on different wavelengths of light basic optical principle of linear interference between each other. This means that, if every channel use the wavelength nuances with the light, the light of the many channels can be carried by a single optical fiber, and there is only negligible signal crosstalk.
